Cattleya and Laelia Species

These two genera include some of the showiest and most horticulturally important orchids in the world. Both groups are found from Mexico to Brazil, and both have had some recent taxonomic changes. There are almost 50 species of “Cattleyas” and more than 60 “Laelias”, and new species continue to be found, particularly in the rupicolous group of the latter (Hoffmansegella). This talk presents most of the species from both "genera".
