The Species of Cymbidium

This Australasian genus of forty plus species is one of the most popular cultivated genera in the family. Some of the East Asian species have been cultivated for centuries and are still highly prized today. Many of the species (as well as the hybrids) are well suited for outside culture in mild climates, and in fact will languish in conditions that are too warm.

Photos of most species as well as their varieties are shown, and cultural requirements will be given.
